Georgia’s airports surpass annual record in just 11 months with 14% passenger growth
The strongest growth was recorded at Batumi airport serving Black Sea resort city
Georgian airports handled 7.86 million passengers between January and November 2025, a 14% increase over the same record-breaking period last year, according to Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA).
This figure has already exceeded the total passenger count for all of 2024.
During the eleven months, airlines operated 35,100 flights (+18% year-on-year), comprising 26,850 scheduled and 8,250 charter services.
Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) remained the Caucasus nation’s busiest hub, serving 4.98 million passengers – a 13% rise.
It was followed by Kutaisi International Airport (KUT) with 1.69 million passengers (+7%).
The strongest growth was recorded at Batumi International Airport (BUS) on the Black Sea coast, where traffic surged 30% to 1.17 million passengers.
Hungarian LCC Wizz Air continues to dominate the Georgian market, carrying 1.31 million passengers and commanding 17% of the market. It was followed by Georgian Airways (8%), with Turkish carriers Pegasus and Turkish Airlines tied at 7% each.
Air cargo also saw remarkable growth, with volume jumping 49% year-on-year to 33,920 tons.
