Uzbekistan’s flag carrier reports 6.5% passenger growth in 2025

Uzbekistan Airways, the largest airline group in Uzbekistan, served 6.612 million passengers in 2025, a 6.5% growth year-on-year.

The airline also increased its flight operations by 8.7%, to 49,258 sectors.

While passenger numbers grew, cargo volume saw a decline, with roughly 52,000 tons transported—a 21% year-on-year decrease.

The carrier launched or resumed services on nine routes from three Uzbek cities.

The group’s sole new aircraft acquisition was a 19-seat L-410 UVP-E20 turboprop delivered to subsidiary Silk Avia.

Furthermore, the carrier repaired and returned to operation a Boeing 767 widebody aircraft that had been out of service for several years.

Last year, Uzbekistan Airways made substantial commitments to fleet renewal, signing firm contracts for 22 Boeing 787-9 widebodies and letters of intent for the lease of eight new Airbus A321neos from Chinese companies.
