Uzbekistan-based private carrier Centrum Air is restructuring its fleet basing and flight schedule as part of a network optimization and efficiency drive. With the onset of the summer 2026 season, the airline will significantly reduce its presence at Samarkand International Airport (SKD) to concentrate resources at its primary hub, Tashkent Islam Karimov International airport (TAS).

Effective 1 April, Centrum Air will suspend operations from Samarkand to Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow Domodedovo, Vladivostok, and Sochi. Services to Vladivostok and Sochi will be launched from Tashkent instead.

Tel Aviv will remain the sole destination from SKD.

The carrier stated that the move will enable “a more stable schedule, enhanced connectivity for transfer passengers at Tashkent, and improved overall punctuality and fleet utilization.”

The withdrawal is a notable loss for Samarkand, the country’s second‑largest airport. In 2025, Centrum Air operated flights from SKD to ten destinations, making a significant contribution to its route development.
