LCC Wizz expands Baku European network with new Bratislava service

Central and Eastern European low-cost carrier (LCC) Wizz Air is set to expand its Caspian footprint with the launch of a new direct service between Bratislava (BTS), Slovakia, and Baku (GYD), Azerbaijan, starting September 29.

The new capital-to-capital link will operate twice-weekly, utilizing the airline’s high-density, 239-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Bratislava marks Wizz Air’s third European gateway to Heydar Aliyev International Airport, complementing its existing operations to the Azerbaijani capital from Budapest (BUD) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO).

Leveraging Bratislava’s proximity to Vienna—situated just 60 km from the Austrian capital—Wizz Air continues to build out its South Caucasus and Caspian network, adding Baku to an existing regional roster that has featured Kutaisi (KUT) and Yerevan (EVN) since January.
