Centrum Air to launch flights to Sri Lanka and Indonesia
Uzbekistan’s largest private airline is set to become the sole carrier on both routes
Centrum Air, the largest private airline in Uzbekistan, plans to launch flights this year from its home base in Tashkent to Colombo (CMB) in Sri Lanka and Denpasar (DPS) in Indonesia. This was revealed in a route network map published by the airline’s owner, Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov.
Both destinations are popular sea resort spots, and currently, there is no direct air service between them and Uzbekistan. Colombo serves as the gateway to the beach resorts of Sri Lanka’s west and south coasts, while Denpasar Airport is located on the Indonesian island of Bali, known for its world-famous beaches. Centrum Air previously operated charter flights to Denpasar in 2024.
This year, the Uzbek carrier has launched almost a dozen of new routes from Tashkent, including Karachi and Lahore (Pakistan); Aktobe, Astana, Kostanay, and Uralsk (Kazakhstan); Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Samara, and Sochi (Russia); and Frankfurt am Main (Germany).
In total, Centrum Air’s route network now spans 49 cities across Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Europe. Its largest international market by number of destinations is Russia (16 cities), followed by its home region of Central Asia and the Caucasus (12 destinations).

Centrum Air began operations in February 2023 as the passenger division of the Uzbek cargo airline My Freighter. The airline’s fleet currently consists of 16 Airbus aircraft: six “classic” A320ceo jets, six new-generation neo aircraft (two A320-251N and four A321-253NX), and four widebody A330-300 airliners. The carrier plans to increase its fleet to 22 aircraft this year and expects to lease an additional eight airliners in 2027.
According to IATA data, the overall air route network in Uzbekistan grew by 11% in 2025, reaching 206 routes compared to 185 the previous year.
In the first quarter of 2026, 2.2 million people were transported by air in the country, the National Statistical Committee of Uzbekistan reported. This is the best result since at least 2020, when 0.6 million passengers were carried by air in the Central Asian republic.
