Turkmenistan Airlines to increase frequency on five international routes
Turkmenistan's flag carrier expands flight schedule to Istanbul, Kazan, Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul, and Milan for the winter season
During the upcoming winter schedule, Turkmenistan’s national carrier, Turkmenistan Airlines, plans to boost international flight frequencies departing from its hub at Ashgabat Airport.
The frequency increases will target the airline’s busiest corridors. Service on the Ashgabat–Istanbul route—serving as the carrier’s principal western transit hub connecting Central Asian Republic to Europe and beyond—will expand from 12 to 13 flights per week. On the Kazan route, which has become a primary connecting link to Russia, service will rise from four to six weekly operations.
Long-haul operations will also see expansion. Flight frequencies to both Ho Chi Minh City and Milan will increase from two to three weekly services, while the Seoul route, launched last year, will expand from one to two flights per week.
Conversely, the Delhi route will see a reduction in service, dropping from three to two weekly flights.
Capacity to Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, London, and Frankfurt will remain unchanged. The carrier also intends to maintain its Middle Eastern schedule, serving Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Jeddah.
In total, Turkmenistan Airlines plans to operate more than 40 scheduled international flights weekly over the winter period, with a network spanning 14 foreign destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Although Turkmenistan maintains six international airports, all scheduled international passenger operations for Turkmenistan Airlines remain consolidated at Ashgabat, the nation’s capital.
The carrier’s passenger fleet comprises 14 Boeing aircraft, consisting of ten 737-700/-800 narrowbodies and four 777-200/-300 widebodies.
