# LCC FlyArystan Joins the IATA IOSA Registry

**Kazakh carrier completes its first international safety audit**

Kazakh low-cost carrier FlyArystan, a subsidiary of [Air Astana Group](https://centralasiaplus.aero/2026/05/20/kazakhstans-air-transport-market-three-players-and-the-capacity-surplus-window/), has completed its initial IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and has been officially added to the IOSA registry. The certification confirms that the airline's management systems and operational processes comply with international safety standards.

Passing the audit represents a major milestone in the carrier's growth, marking its first independent assessment. FlyArystan’s transition into a standalone entity began in late 2023 with the establishment of a separate legal entity (a 100% subsidiary of Air Astana). In April 2024, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan granted the airline its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC), followed by the assignment of unique IATA and ICAO codes in October. On January 1, 2025, the LCC fully transitioned to operating flights under its own code.

The audit covered all key operational areas, including organization and management systems, flight operations, operational control and flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling, cargo operations, and security management.

Achieving these safety benchmarks comes amid challenging operational conditions. FlyArystan operates a fleet of 28 Airbus A320 family aircraft, including A320neos powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engines.
