Shohin Airlines takes delivery of its first aircraft
The 19-seat L-410NG turboprop will enable the carrier to launch domestic flights
Tajik start-up Shohin Airlines has taken delivery of its first aircraft: a 19-seat L-410NG turboprop. It arrived in Dushanbe on September 25 directly from the Czech manufacturer, LET Aircraft Industries.
“The arrival of the L 410 NG opens a new avenue for Shohin Airlines’ development. We see this aircraft as a foundation for further expanding the company’s capabilities in regional passenger transportation and developing domestic air connectivity,” said the airline’s CEO Zafar Ahmadzoda.
The delivery of the L-410NG will allow the airline to launch domestic passenger services. Shohin Airlines has already operated a proving flight with the new aircraft to the town of Khorog in southeastern Tajikistan.
Currently, state-owned Tajik Air operates the Dushanbe–Khorog route using a 17-seat An-28 turboprop. According to local media reports, the carrier has also been in negotiations to acquire L-410 aircraft.
Shohin Airlines was established in June 2025. Prior to this delivery, its fleet consisted solely of a single Mil Mi-8AMT heavy transport helicopter. In July 2026, the Tajik carrier announced an order for two medium-haul Airbus A320neo and two A321neo narrow-body airliners, though delivery timelines were not disclosed.
