Uzbekistan’s route network expands by 11% year-on-year

In 2025, Uzbekistan’s air route network grew by 11% to 206 routes, up from 185 a year earlier, according to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) report Regional Air Connectivity in Uzbekistan: A 2025 Snapshot. Over the year, 24 new routes were launched, and flights resumed on another 20 destinations.

Between 2015 and 2025, the Central Asian nation’s scheduled route network expanded from 109 to 206 routes (+89%). 57% of current routes differ from the 2015 network, reflecting a large-scale transformation of the country’s air connectivity over the past decade, IATA noted.

Today, 47 airlines operate scheduled flights to Uzbekistan (compared to 16 in 2015), serving 11 airports across the country. At the same time, IATA classifies 91% of Uzbek airports as regional, with fewer than one million annual departing seats available.

Medium-haul flights (ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 km) account for 63% of the route network. Short-haul routes (under 500 km) and long-haul operations (over 4,000 km) make up 14% each, while regional/short-haul flights (500–1,500 km) account for the remaining 10% of the network.
