Centrum Air, Uzbekistan’s largest private airline, has opened ticket sales for direct flights connecting Tashkent with Sri Lanka. Services to the southern resort city of Hambantota (HRI) will launch on October 28, operating twice weekly through the end of March 2027. The carrier will deploy Airbus A320 family narrowbody airliners on the route. Earlier, the airline planned to fly to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo (CMB).

Centrum Air will be the sole operator on the Tashkent–Hambantota route. The move comes as the airline aggressively expands its footprint across South Asia; on September 28, it launched flights from Tashkent to Hyderabad in southern India. Its existing network in the region already includes Delhi, as well as Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan.

Additionally, on September 28, Centrum Air signed a direct distribution agreement with Atlas, a Singapore-based flight API and travel retailing technology platform. The partnership will enable the Uzbek carrier to broaden its distribution reach via Atlas’s global network of online travel agencies, travel management companies, and travel technology platforms.
