National carrier Air Serbia has announced the continued expansion of its network in the South Caucasus. Starting March 28, 2027, the airline will launch flights from Belgrade to the Armenian capital, Yerevan. Initially, frequencies on this route will be operated three times a week, increasing to four weekly flights by mid-June.

On this route, Air Serbia will compete with Flyone Armenia, which announced the launch of flights to Belgrade starting December 15, 2026.

The launch of flights to Yerevan is part of the Serbian airline’s strategy to expand its flight geography ahead of the Specialized EXPO 2027 exhibition opening in Belgrade in March 2027.

“Further network growth will be accompanied by fleet expansion, providing additional capacity to support the continued development of the company and improve connectivity for passengers across our network,” said Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek.

With the launch of flights to Armenia, the Serbian carrier will complete its entry into the South Caucasus market. In May of this year, the airline launched flights to the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, while flights to Tbilisi, Georgia, have been operated since 2025.

Marek previously noted that flights to South Caucasus countries can only be profitable through transfer passenger traffic, which Air Serbia channels via its main hub in Belgrade. He also mentioned that the airline is considering opening flights to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, though it is still too early to name exact timeframes.
