Air Stratos, Uzbekistan’s youngest airline, has signed an interline agreement with the country’s oldest carrier, Uzbekistan Airways. The document was inked in late August, Air Stratos reported, noting that the deal will allow the airline to market and sell air transport services across its partner’s extensive route network, both regionally and internationally.

“By connecting our networks, we are creating greater access to destinations and more options for freight forwarders, cargo agents and logistics partners,” Air Stratos said in a statement.

Cargo airline Air Stratos received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in April this year and performed its first commercial flight a month later. The carrier currently operates a single Boeing 757-200PCF freighter (registration UK75008), flying charter routes from Tashkent to Almaty, Delhi, and Dubai. In September, the airline secured approval to launch flights to Hong Kong.

Uzbekistan Airways was founded in 1992 and currently operates domestic services as well as international routes across Asia, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and the United States. In 2025, the flag carrier transported 6.6 million passengers and 52,000 tons of cargo.

As Antonio López-Lázaro, CEO of Spain’s Euroairlines, noted in an interview with CentralAsia+Aero, interline agreements serve as a valuable tool for young carriers, enabling them to rapidly scale traffic volumes by leveraging their partners’ existing infrastructure.
