Uzbekistan Airways–Kam Air interline opens Kabul–Eurasia connections
Afghanistan-origined passengers gain seamless connections through Tashkent to Europe, Asia and Russia
Flag carrier Uzbekistan Airways and Kam Air, Afghanistan’s largest private carrier, have signed an interline agreement. The carriers said integrating their route networks will simplify passenger connections between Afghanistan, Europe and Asia and strengthen Tashkent’s transit potential.
The agreement was formally announced only recently, but through-ticketing for travel to and from Kabul via Tashkent International Airport (TAS) has been available since September 2026.
The pact covers 15 key Uzbekistan Airways destinations: European capitals and business centers Paris, Milan, Riga, Tbilisi and Minsk; Asian megacities and leisure destinations Seoul, Delhi, Phuket, Urumqi and Astana; and major Russian cities Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
A key service benefit is through-checked baggage, reducing minimum connecting times and streamlining transfers for passengers.
Uzbekistan Airways said the Kam Air partnership advances its strategy to expand its route network and establish Tashkent as a key Central Asian hub. Traffic from Afghanistan will help support load factors on the Uzbek carrier’s medium- and long-haul services. The tie-up also gives the international business community and diplomatic missions predictable, reliable connectivity on one of the region’s least accessible logistics routes.
The Kam Air interline is not Uzbekistan Airways’ only partnership this year. The carrier launched an interline with flydubai in September and signed codeshare agreements with China Southern in July and Etihad Airways in May.
